Privacy notice

The Bristol Inclusive Economy Initiative is a University of Bristol Temple Quarter research initiative.   We bring researchers from different disciplines together, with a range of partners from across the city and beyond, to work towards building a green and fair economy in the Bristol city region. 

 This Privacy Notice sets out how we collect and process your data/the personal information we collect from you.  We may make changes to this policy, so please check from time to time for any updates.  

 We will only collect your data from the following: 

  • Our online sign up to our mailing list form. 
  • Eventbrite, when you register for one of our events. 
  • Seedcorn and competition application forms.  
  • Hard copy mailing list sign-up forms, which we take to events. 

How we use the data we collect from you:

  • We will not share your data with anyone outside the Inclusive Economy Initiative and its governing bodies. 
  • We will only add you to our mailing list if you have given your consent for us to do so. 
  • We will use our mailing list to keep you informed about our news, events and funding opportunities, and sometimes about other events and opportunities you might find interesting. 
  • We may contact you about our events you have signed up to on Eventbrite or by other means. 
  • We will contact you about seedcorn projects/competitions you have applied for or expressed an interest in.     

 Record retention: 

  • We will keep your contact details on our mailing list until you unsubscribe. 
  • We will keep successful seedcorn application forms for 2 years after the project ends.  
  • We will keep unsuccessful seedcorn application forms for 6 months after the funding call closing date. After this time, the application form will be destroyed but we will keep a record of applications received for tracking progress and reporting, including to our funders.  
  • We will keep seedcorn applications and contact you if we think you would be interested in further research collaborations. These applications will be deleted upon request. 
  • We will keep competition applications and contact you if we think you would be interested in further collaborations. These applications will be deleted upon request. 
  • Once we have received your information, we will use appropriate procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access. 
  • The Inclusive Economy Initiative adheres to the University of Bristol's Information Security Policy.

 Third party software tools:

  • Third party services collect certain technical information from your device including standard internet log information i.e. Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, and page interaction information. 
  • We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. See MailChimp privacy policy. 
  • We use a third-party provider, Eventbrite, to manage registration for and communications around our events. See Eventbrite privacy policy.
